About United Athletics Manchester
UA Manchester was founded in 2011 when Marie moved from London working with Unity Allstars to Manchester with her family. She joined forces with Emma and Manchester Lightning Cheerleaders and the two groups combined in 2012. UA has consistently placed very well at competitive events including a 2013 National Championship win at Jamfest for Sr. Coed Level 3 and a Second Place finish in Sr. Level 1.
Highlights in UA's short history are welcoming the Olympic Torch at ADIDAS Headquarters for a special performance in 2012, performing for HRH The Queen and Prince Philip for the Queen's Jubilee, appearing on multiple cheer programmes including How to Be Epic at Everything and running cheer activities at Media City UK.
UA also likes to support local charities including Francis House Children's Hospice and since the 2016-2017 Season, and are active fundraisers for JDRF UK (Junior Diabetes Research).
We believe that cheer is a sport for life- it is an activity that teaches lessons well beyond the benefits of physical fitness. In July 2019 we were excited to announce that UA Manchester has become United Athletics Cheer Manchester with updated colours of Black, Purple and Gold.
