Hello, United Athletics Family! We are all a bit sad right now about the upcoming lockdown, and thank you for giving us space over the last 24 hours to communicate with you. We hoped we weren’t going to be using these plans! Your UA Team Coaches will be delivering team training using a mixture of Zoom, athlete training booklets and videos/materials that will be posted on our website specific to each team. Each organised session will last between 30 minutes - 1 hour dependant on usual training time. This month is very much NOT a break from training altogether. We will work hard to engage with every athlete during this month and ask families to support their athletes and encourage their participation in sessions. If you need help with this, please let us know. The costs of running the club are not paused during this unprecedented time. If possible, we kindly ask for athletes to pay 50% of their monthly fees this month as we continue at home training. If this is not possible, please do not pay this month, but please remember that fees will be due for December when the gym re-opens. Unfortunately the lockdown announcement was made at the end of the month with standing orders for Training Fees set to go out on the 1st. Most accounts will not allow this payment to be stopped, but you may try to do so through your online/phone banking system. If you are unable to adjust/cancel your standing order for November at this late stage, please email Marie at uamanchestercheer@gmail.com with your bank account details and the amount you would like to be refunded. Refunds will be processed through the end of this week. Membership fees are currently frozen- all athletes will be re-enrolled in Class4Kids registers automatically. As the situation develops, we will also adjust our predicted event schedule. We currently do not expect to participate in live events prior to April 2021 but virtual event opportunities may be available. Any questions you have, please let us know! You can email us at uamanchestercheer@gmail.com or WhatsApp your Team Coaches. Training information and links for Thursday and Sunday teams will be communicated in the next day or two as we get them uploaded and scheduled using your Team WhatsApp Groups. Trafford School of Gymnastics will officially close on Wednesday this week. All being well, our first session back will be Thursday, 3 December 2020. Stay safe, UA, and we will see you again very soon. |
On 22 October, 2020, DCMS APPROVED the SportCheer England Return to Play Document. All information can be found on the Corona Virus Hub section of their website HERE.
The following is taken from the SportCheer England Website regarding the approval and how it applies to the TIER System in England. As of 23 October, our area is classed as Tier 3. FROM THE SCUK WEBSITE: Update 22 October 2020: We are extremely pleased to let you know that today we received confirmation from the DCMS that our Return to Play document has been approved. This is great news for our cheer and dance community and means that some athletes can at last return to stunting, which is at the very core of our sport. HOW DO LOCAL COVID ALERT LEVELS (TIERS) AFFECT TRAINING NOW? At local COVID alert levels medium, high and very high, there are exemptions in place for youth sport, disability sport and sport in an educational setting (includes University students), so these athletes may now train up to Level 1 on the SportCheer England RTP Road Map. At local COVID alert level medium (Tier 1) all Athletes aged 18 and over who are not exempt (as outlined above) may train up to Level 2 on the SportCheer England RTP Road Map. At local COVID alert levels high (Tier 2) and very high (Tier 3) all Athletes aged 18 and over who are not exempt (as outlined above) may train up to Level 3 on the SportCheer England RTP Road Map. As more areas head towards Tier 3 restrictions it is also important to note that guidance under this tier is subject to change, depending on local and national government agreements and that local government can add additional restrictions as has been the case in Lancashire. We would encourage clubs to check local guidelines as these may vary. You can find further information on how sport is impacted by the Tier system from Sport England here: https://www.sportengland.org/how-we-can-help/coronavirus |

NHS Test and TracePlease read this 23 September 2020 guidance from the NHS regarding Test and Trace. United Athletics uses registers to track contacts but will also have the mandatory QR code posted at the TSG venue for use. This letter was sent to schools to be shared with parents and guardians and outlines WHEN to get a test for your child and WHEN a child should NOT ATTEND schools and clubs. Please remember that if an athlete or coach is undertaking a 14-Day quarantine due to a contact testing positive for COVID-19, they MAY NOT attend training until that period is complete and they have had no symptoms.
